Chicago Brass Works - Custom Trumpets
About Us

Rich Szabo and Wayne Tanabe met many years ago at an International Trumpet Guild conference and an immediate friendship began.  With mutual respect for each other talents they began working together on an idea for a new trumpet over two years ago (2001). Today they would like to present to you the culmination of this effort, a trumpet born of past history and the future built into a concept trumpet never made before.  We are honored to now present this endeavor for your consideration.

About Us

Chicago Brass Works (CBW) presents the emergence of a new concept in trumpets today. Using technologies never incorporated before in musical instruments along with proven old world designs and traditions found in all fine musical instruments, CBW brings to you trumpets based upon intonation, response, resonance, and sound.

A synergistic approach by New York trumpeter Rich Szabo and Chicago Custom brass specialist Wayne Tanabe of The Brass Bow Music Co., Chicago Brass   Works presents a new line of trumpets for the professional player. Currently 4 separate models encompass the many different playing preferences and characteristics musicians look for in Bb trumpets.

Each trumpet has been handcrafted to exacting standards using cutting edge technology used by Wayne Tanabe to produce instruments that have consistent playing and resonance characteristics.
